Steyning Cricket Club runs 8 Colts teams and has a successful record of developing players through the age groups and into the adult teams.  The club hosts hundreds of children covering the following age groups:

  • Under 10s (training on Friday evenings 6:30pm - 7:45pm)
  • Under 11s (training on Friday evenings 6:30pm - 7:45pm)
  • Under 12s (training on Friday evenings 6:30pm - 7:45pm)
  • Under 13s (training on Monday evenings 6pm - 7:30pm)
  • Under 14s (training on Wednesday evenings from 6pm)
  • Under 15s (training on Thursday evenings)
  • Under 16s (training on Sunday mornings)

All teams are managed by volunteers and coached by ECB trained coaches, all of whom have been CRB checked.

For the name and contact details for each age group organiser, please click on the age group link under colts teams.

Training: Fridays 6:30 pm until 7.45 pm .

New members are always welcome and any girls over the age of 13 are welcome to train with us and we will endeavour to find games for them with the Ladies or other age groups. Mums wishing to play or just wishing to brush up on their cricketing knowledge are welcome to come along to the Ladies training night Wednesdays 6.30 - 8pm at the Steyning Ground.

National Clubmark Award

This has been a year of significant success for Steyning Cricket Club - not least achieving the national Clubmark award.

Clubmark is highly prestigious, and is only awarded to Clubs which can demonstrate the highest levels of performance and conduct in all aspects of running their affairs both on and off the field of play.  Our approach to the safety, welfare, and development of young players has been singled out for high praise by the Sussex Cricket Board.

Achieving Clubmark accreditation opens new doors for the Club - including access to external funding and resources for our further growth and development.  A very recent example is our eligibility to exchange Sainsbury's "Active Kids" vouchers for new cricket equipment. So please get collecting - and give them to your age-group manager!

We need to maintain these high standards in the years ahead - and ensure we implement all the aspirations set out in the Club's 5 year Strategic Plan. So, in a sense, Clubmark is the start of a journey for the Club - not its final destination.

Junior Sussex County Cricket

On the representative front, the boys who were put forward for area trials all did extremely well putting up a great show for Steyning Colts. Congratulations to the following:

  • Umpire (tuition available at no cost).
  • Helping out at training sessions.
